Sofia Angels Ventures – Event Press Release
In May 2023 Bistra Kirova– managing partner at Sofia Angels Ventures (SAV), took part in this year’s final of the Teenovator‘s program.
On the 20th May 2023, 70 startups formed by 500 students from 30 cities in Bulgaria presented their ideas in front of the jury, consisting of Bistra, Kamen Bankovski (Vitosha Venture Partners), Stanislav Sirakov (LauncHub) and Bogomila Galaboff (PostScriptum). The final concluded with three winners, which received cash rewards from Teenovator to turn their ideas into businesses.
The winning teams are Free-B (First place), Home Box Tea (Second place) and AgroRica Drone (Third place).
Free-B is a product, which allows for charging of phone batteries during a hike or a walk – it is attached to the backpack straps and uses solar energy and body heat to generate energy.
Home Box Tea is a tea, made from mountain herbs and comes in a biodegradable packaging, which can be then planted in the soil and a plant would grow from it.
AgroRica Drone provides a smart service in agricutlure by using drones, which monitor and analyse the data on the conditions of arable land.
Among the ideas presented on the Final there were products and services relating to smart technologies, digitalization, cyber security, electric vehicles, green energy and ESG.
Teenovator allows teams of students in 10th and 11th grade to come together and work with two mentors over the course of an academic year, within 28 weekly meetings dedicated to soft skills and business project development. The goal is to develop skills for teamwork, dealing with failure, developing a complete business project and its presentation. The program is completely free and the sign-up for the 6th annual Teenovator is already open.
